Effective date: October 8, 2026

This policy explains what personal information SAYKAYZ.Blog collects when you use saykayz.blog, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet the UK GDPR, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and US state privacy laws.

Who we are

saykayz.blog is run by SAYKAYZ.Blog (“SAYKAYZ”, “we”, “us”), which is the data controller for the personal information described here. For any privacy question or request, please use our Contact page.

What we collect

When you submit a piece through the Publish page: your name, your email address, whether you want your email shown on the published piece, the category and title you choose, the text you write, and any files you upload.

When you use the Contact page: your name, your email address, your ticket number if you give one, and your message.

When you pay the publishing fee: payment is handled entirely by Paddle (see “Who we share it with”). Paddle collects your payment details. We never see or store your card number; we only receive confirmation that the payment went through and a transaction reference.

When you simply browse: we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and our pages do not set cookies for visitors. Like every website, our hosting provider’s servers record basic technical information about each request (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) in short-lived server logs, used to keep the site running and secure.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To provide the publishing service you ask for: formatting your submission, sending you a private preview, taking payment and publishing your piece with your name on it. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you (contract).
  • To show your email address on your published piece: only if you tick the box asking for it. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the Contact page.
  • To reply to messages sent through the Contact page. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering questions, or steps you ask us to take before an agreement.
  • To keep the site secure: blocking spam submissions, limiting repeated form submissions, and protecting our admin login. To limit repeated submissions we keep a scrambled code made from your connection’s address (never the address itself) for up to one hour. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe service.
  • To keep records we are legally required to keep. Legal basis: legal obligation.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, and we do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Published content is public

The purpose of SAYKAYZ is to publish your work. Once you approve and pay, your piece goes live publicly with your name and, only if you chose it, your email address. Anyone can read it, and it may be indexed by search engines. You can ask us to take a published piece down at any time through the Contact page; see our Terms of Service and Refund Policy for how removals work.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information with the service providers that make the platform work:

  • Hostinger: hosts the website, stores submissions and files, and delivers our emails.
  • Paddle.com: processes payments as our reseller and merchant of record, which means Paddle is responsible for your payment information under its own privacy notice. Paddle’s checkout loads from Paddle only on the payment step, and may use cookies or similar technology needed to complete the payment.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

How long we keep it

  • Files you upload with a submission: deleted 90 days after your piece is published. The published piece itself is what remains.
  • Submissions that are never approved and paid: deleted 12 months after our last contact with you.
  • Published pieces and the name (and email, if chosen) shown on them: kept for as long as the piece is live, and removed when you ask us to take it down.
  • Messages sent through the Contact page: kept for up to 2 years, then deleted.
  • Payment records: kept by Paddle as required by tax and accounting law. We keep only the transaction reference with your publication.
  • Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security, then deleted automatically.

International transfers

Our service providers may store or process information in countries other than yours, including outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards in their data processing terms, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved for that purpose.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EU, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to how we use it;
  • receive the information you gave us in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example, showing your email on your piece).

If you live in a US state with a privacy law, such as California, you have similar rights to know, correct and delete your personal information, and you will not be treated differently for using them. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

To use any of these rights, send a request through our Contact page. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, the authority in the country where you live. We would appreciate the chance to help first.

Cookies

Our pages do not set cookies for visitors, and we do not use analytics or advertising. If you work on SAYKAYZ and sign in to manage the site, WordPress uses cookies to keep you signed in. Paddle’s checkout may use its own cookies on the payment step, as described above.

If we ever add analytics or advertising, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted admin access, and private storage for the files you upload, which cannot be opened from the public website. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.

Children

SAYKAYZ is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our service or the law changes. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change significantly affects how we use information from an open submission, we will tell you by email.
